Collide

Milton Keynes
Camcorder club were asked to participate in a
Folk Archive Art project at the M.K. Gallery,
featuring a travelling exhibition of works by
artists Deller & Kane. The club was asked to
liaise with a local skateboard group, on the
making of a film of their activities. Stephen
Crawford volunteered to undertake the editing of
DV footage shot by Paul deCunha of a variety of
local skateboarders, including some startling
stunts by his 8-year-old son Alex. Local band
“21 Dead” were invited to provide one of their
rock compositions for the sound track.
The day of
the exhibition was Saturday 17th
September, and an early start was made by
Stephen, Bill Eustace and Simon Russell to
transport and set up Stephen’s edit suite in the
Events Room at MK Gallery. A variety of visitors
enjoyed watching Stephen demonstrate the editing
of the skateboard film, and some good
suggestions were made by some of the
skateboarders.
The following
week our video “Collide” was shown on a large
screen at the opening of the new Central Milton
Keynes skateboard park |

We
had a great club weekend in the Forest of Dean
to shoot scenes for this production |

Operation
Pancake
|
In 1999
several club members collaborated on the
production of a video featuring Olney and it's
famous pancake race.
Subsequent
sales of the video (on two continents!) raised a
good sum which was donated to Willen Hospice.
A valuable
learning experience for everyone that took part,
and one of the clubs best achievements to date

Our efforts
to help out at a recent painting demonstration
were well received by the many who attended.
Using cameras and display screens we were able
to show live close-ups of the demonstration in
progress, allowing more of the audience to get a
ringside seat and see details they might
otherwise have missed. Unfortunately even the
TV screens were not big enough to enable the
whole audience to share the benefits.
Nevertheless, the Society have asked us to
repeat this at future meetings - Volunteers
needed - Get Involved Now ! |
Gospel Concert
 |
At the
request of the organisers we recorded Novembers
Gospel Concert 'The Rock' at the Church of
Christ the Cornerstone in Central Milton
Keynes. Post production work is now in
progress. This interesting multi camera shoot
could well be repeated next year. If you
want to be involved in this, or similar future
events, Get in touch now! |
