Club History
Milton Keynes Camcorder Club (MKCC) was formed back in 1995, as the “Milton Keynes and District Cine and Video Club”. At that time, the club was based in Newport Pagnell.
Since then, the club has grown and has embarked on several major projects, including an instructional video for the local hospital, filming the Newport Pagnell Carnival and the Olney Pancake race. Profits from these events were donated to the Willen Hospice.
Today, the club meets at Centrecom in Central Milton Keynes. It changed its name to Milton Keynes Camcorder club in 1997.
MKCC is affiliated with the IAC. Members from the club are encouraged to participate in competitions and individual members have enjoyed success in IAC competitions, winning bronze, silver, and gold seal awards. To learn more about the IAC, click on the above link.
In 2001, MKCC (as a club) won the IAC Triangle Competition on its third year of competing in the competition. In 2006, MKCC achieved second place in the same competition.
Also in 2001, the club launched its very first website www.mkcamcorderclub.co.uk
