Milton Keynes Camcorder Club

A Brief History

Milton Keynes Camcorder Club was formed, under its original title of the Milton Keynes and District Cine and  video club at the start of 1995, and was based in Newport Pagnell.  It relocated shortly thereafter to its present location of Centrecom in Central Milton Keynes, and changed its name to the MKCC.

Since then, the club has grown and has embarked on several projects including an instructional video for the local hospital, and filming The Newport Pagnell Carnival and the Olney Pancake race, the profits from which were donated to the Willen Hospice.  The club consists of members with a diverse level of experience and interests and the clubs programme seeks to engage all members.

Members from the club have enjoyed success in the IAC competitions, and have attained bronze, silver, and gold seal awards. 2001 was a successful year for the Club, when it won the IAC North Thames Region Triangle Competiton on its third year of competing in the competition. 2006 saw the club come second in the same competition.

In 2001 the Club joined the information highway and gained a presence on the World Wide Web through its webpage and will shortly be posting some of its films on the internet for other clubs to view.

MKCC meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm at Centrecom, 602 North Row, Central Milton Keynes.  All are welcome!
